U.S. Olympic Swimmer Janet Evans x BMW Performance

Five time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans is making a come back. She’s got her eye on the podium of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and she’s posting lap times in pool that indicate she might pull it off.  A lot has changed for Evans since she competed at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta — she is the mother of two and a savvy businesswoman. She’s also approaching her 40th birthday in August.

Evans was in New York this week, to discuss her relationship with BMW along with decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay and U.S triathlon contender Matt Chrabot, and how BMW’s vision technology is helping her improve performance in the pool. “We all need the extra edge to get ahead,” she said. “But not technology plays a key part in making us think about your strokes.” She is one 11 athletes that BMW will sponsor individually, along with their support of the US Olympic team’s swimming, track & field, bobsled and speed skating programs.

Evans is in tip-top shape and carried herself with the confidence of a champion. But, 40 is the new 20.
