New Expression: Quintessence by Grand Marnier
Grand Marnier releases it first expression for the American market in 30 years with the fine cognac Quintessence. This bottle is a big deal, retailing for $700 bottle. It’s a bit of a sage with at lead 60 years in the family reserves. Best savored in small glasses, Quintessence is not your average bar room spirit. The smell is intoxicating — rich and robust. First sip teases the tongue as bitter orange notes dance. The smooth, velvety texture slides easily down the throat, and leaves a satisfying tingle sure to tantalize the palette. Quintessence is the followup to Cent-Cinquantenaire, which debuted in 1977, and makes for an impressive statement. Baltimore Magazine had a similar take on Grand Marnier’s latest.
